Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients undergoing surgical procedures, utilizing knowledge of growth and development stages to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Provide competent and appropriate nursing care to patients, demonstrating expertise in clinical skills and emergency equipment procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, adhering to documentation guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
  • Exemplify professional practice responsibility, demonstrating knowledge of policies and procedures, and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by responding to patient and family needs in a professional and courteous manner, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, utilizing universal protocol and patient identifiers to ensure safe patient care.
  • Individualize patient care according to surgical procedures and anesthesia types, assessing patient reaction and understanding of instructions.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for directing patient care, prioritizing patient needs and responding to changes in condition.
  • Assess patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions, actively involving patients and family members in teaching and education.
  • Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner, evaluating Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and potential omissions.
Requirements
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS certification
  • RN License
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
