Role Summary and Qualifications
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-centered care by designing and implementing tailored therapy programs for individuals facing communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Speech Language Pathologist conducts thorough patient evaluations and sets appropriate treatment objectives. This role also involves educating patients, families, students, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech and language capabilities through interactive conversation and standardized testing.
- Develop and execute personalized therapy plans aimed at enhancing communication skills.
- Regularly assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, including notes, billing, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and medical professionals to evaluate potential patients and determine suitable treatment placements.
- Master's degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
- Current licensure from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology.
- Preferred membership in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
