Position Overview

The Electrical Project Manager plays a crucial role in steering projects from initial concept through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager encompass:

  • Overseeing multiple projects concurrently; executing engineering tasks while guiding project teams; ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and maintaining high technical standards; devising innovative solutions; translating concepts into visual representations; utilizing feedback to refine and implement design principles while demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Engaging in the preparation and/or evaluation of construction documents, including but not limited to drawings, submittals, reports, and proposals to guarantee precision and compliance with design standards; upholding high quality and uniformity in all outputs.
  • Facilitating and supporting field measurements, data gathering, field reports, observations, and site inspections.
  • Participating in design coordination meetings with team members and client representatives.
  • Fostering and maintaining client relationships.
  • Contributing to peer reviews to ensure quality assurance and risk mitigation.
  • Generating monthly progress reports, forecasts, and pre-bills for invoicing purposes.
  • Assisting in the training, mentoring, and development of team members by offering guidance and technical expertise.
  • Collaborating with Marketing & Business Development in responding to RFQs, including interviews, resumes, and presentations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, ideally within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) status with the ability to obtain licensure in NC, SC, and VA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of power, lighting, data, security, and fire alarm distribution systems.
  • Prior experience with buildings and/or industrial/manufacturing facilities.
  • Proficient in electrical software programs, such as Visual and SKM, along with construction document delivery software.
  • Capability to effectively manage multiple projects across various phases from inception to construction.
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as necessary, up to 10% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
