Job Title: Associate Engineer

AVANGRID, Inc. is seeking an experienced Associate Engineer to join our team. As an Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for electrical substation designs and support between BES/CLCPA Program in New York (NYSEG and RG&E), including input into standards and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard electrical engineering analyses, designs, and calculations using standard methodology and principles.
  • Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or improve processes/services.
  • Solve straightforward electrical engineering problems, analyzing possible solutions and assessing each using standard procedures related to lines and power engineering.
  • Ensure all engineering designs implemented by the company meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards.
  • Support capital project engineering through the entire cycle, including scoping, engineering design, contract management, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Support technical requests from current and proposed customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills to decipher technical and analytical problems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate technical concepts.
  • Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment to determine optimal solutions.
  • Awareness and understanding of key business drivers.
  • Ability to devise solutions to both common and complex problems/challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical, and operational experience in a relevant engineering role within a utility environment.
  • Substation Grounding, Thermal Ratings, Lightning Analysis, Transient Analysis, Insulation Coordination, and Substation Equipment Commissioning experience.
What We Offer:

AVANGRID, Inc. offers a competitive salary range, dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $65,000 - $78,705 per year. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
