Job Summary:

Westmihcc is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach computer information systems courses. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or terminal degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of current professional experience in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses as contracted each session and proactively prepare for scheduled courses.
  • Provide instructional opportunities for entire scheduled class time.
  • Contribute positively to the advancement of academics through understanding the curriculum, preparing instructional course syllabi and materials, and providing input and feedback on selected textbooks and instructional resources.
  • Use digital learning technology, including learning management systems and publisher-provided digital resources.
  • Conduct classes in accordance with established course outlines and approved instructional materials.
  • Guide students in their educational processes and refer them for assistance regarding their program, academic progress, and specialized services.
  • Be accessible to assist students with questions and in completion of assignments.
  • Maintain all records, including student and classroom records, in compliance with University guidelines.
  • Maintain a positive approach that provides for innovation, personal growth, and professional development.
  • Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies.
  • Maintain a high level of professional ethics.
  • Participate in adjunct faculty evaluation process as determined by the University.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or terminal degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of current professional experience in the field.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses as required by teaching assignment.
  • Ability to teach one to four hours per class session.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze data, and read/process written information.
  • Teaching experience in higher education or training preferred.
