Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Auburn Community Hospital. The successful candidate will provide medical and surgical care to patients in the emergency department and orthopedic surgery unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in medical and surgical care of patients in the emergency department and orthopedic surgery unit
  • Participate in daily rounds and documentation of medical plans
  • Provide routine medical management of inpatient care, including ordering diagnostic tests and medications
  • Conduct procedures under the direction of the attending physician, including placement of indwelling lines and catheters
  • Initiate emergency care in the inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Manage discharge of patients with appropriate disposition and follow-up planning
  • Participate in educational curriculum and teach other providers as appropriate
Requirements
  • Physician Assistant Degree
  • New York State Registered Physician Assistant - Certified (RPA-C)
  • Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of New York
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer
  • Intermediate word processing skills required
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a general busy clinical environment, including office, operating room, hospital, and radiology. The incumbent is required to help move patients when needed and must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
