The Quality Assurance Supervisor operates under the guidance of FSQA management to ensure adherence to Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and client specifications. This role oversees and manages the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) initiatives. Direct supervision and mentorship of hourly FSQA personnel at the processing facility are key responsibilities. The supervisor is accountable for identifying and resolving food safety and quality challenges within the establishment.

Key Responsibilities:


Recruit, oversee, and educate hourly FSQA technicians in the monitoring, verification, and validation of food safety protocols such as HACCP, SSOP, and prerequisite programs, along with corporate initiatives like metal detection, allergen management, and pest control.

Monitor data and promptly address issues related to processing, sanitation, and maintenance through active involvement.

Timely communication of non-conformances (regarding product quality or regulatory compliance) to FSQA and operations management is essential.


Authorized to place non-conforming products on FSQA hold if they fail to meet Foster Farms standards, client expectations, or legal stipulations.

This position collaborates with senior FSQA management to make decisions regarding product disposition, including whether to release or dispose of products.

Engage with USDA/FSIS representatives for resolution of regulatory non-compliance and information inquiries.

Provide written and verbal communication support to the production management team for establishing corrective and preventive measures in response to non-compliances.


Actively assist operations management in training new production staff to ensure proficiency with GMPs, food safety regulations, and quality standards.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of current FSQA programs, adjusting them to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal benchmarks.

Maintain FSQA data reporting systems, conveying trends and root-cause analyses to management for deficiency resolution and process enhancement.


Actively participate in projects (FSQA or operations) and initiatives aimed at modifying, retrofitting, and improving performance from a food safety and/or quality perspective.
