About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager to join our team at Spartan Tool. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning all aspects of material-related activity within the business, including distribution inventory, components, and raw material procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops inventory strategy to maximize fill rate availability and minimize stockouts
  • Sets ordering policies to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Owns ongoing SIOP process, coordinating with sales to establish/update item-based forecasts
  • Analyzes demand and forecast to set optimized buy plan
  • Places purchase orders respecting supplier lead times
  • Manages inventory performance to ensure accuracy of data within ERP
  • Supplier selection – Establishes criteria and selects suppliers
  • Supplier Management - Manages suppliers and supply base to maximize performance in Quality, Delivery and Cost
  • Ensures production plans are in place with work orders released to cover demand of manufactured components
  • Ensures materials are properly allocated to work orders and provided to production in a timely manner
  • Ensures inventory accuracy of component and raw material stock
  • Ensures existing standards are properly trained and followed
  • Ensures existing standards are updated and improved
  • Establishes new standards where applicable to improve business practices and scalability

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and ongoing awareness of Supply Chain and Inventory Management Best Practices
  • Strong organizational development, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with cloud-based inventory planning tools
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability
  • Experience with establishing and managing to key performance indicators
  • Leadership skills in team management, influence, planning, negotiation, communication
  • Bachelor's with specialization in Logistics, Material Management or Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management 5 to 10 year's relevant management experience
