Pharmacy Order Processing Technician
HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Pharmacy Order Processing Technician to fill an opening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with nursing facilities, prescriber's offices, and insurance providers via phone or fax to manage orders, address inquiries, and ensure exceptional customer service.
- Review and confirm the completeness of all orders prior to processing.
- Check and validate order discrepancies, including short orders and refill requests.
- Collaborate closely with Billing Representatives to handle and resolve pending order claims.
- Investigate issues related to missing deliveries, incorrect prescriptions, and other discrepancies, reporting unresolved matters to the appropriate pharmacy personnel.
- Accurately enter patient profile information and process orders received through electronic or faxed prescriptions.
- Calculate and verify order quantities based on requests or automated systems.
- Perform data entry for various order types, including new orders, reorders, and admissions.
- Ensure timely processing of orders in accordance with pharmacy cutoff times and delivery expectations.
- Prepare first dose orders, ensuring accurate billing where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of medications and equipment dispensed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must possess a clear and valid pharmacy technician license.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience is preferred, particularly in long-term care.
- Experience in hospital or retail pharmacy settings will also be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in long-term care pharmacy are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Compensation: $20/hour - $23/hour
