Job Title: EHS Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned EHS Director to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety, ammonia management, and bilingual skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Oversee all aspects of Workers Compensation, including claim management and return-to-work programs.
  • Manage wastewater operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Implement and oversee safety programs to prevent injury and illness, including in food and freezer operations.
  • Manage ammonia (NH4) safety programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Provide training and education to employees on EHS topics, including safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Respond to and investigate EHS incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on food and freezer operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Experience managing Workers Compensation programs.
  • Experience with wastewater operations and ammonia (NH4) safety.
  • Bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent is preferred.
