Job Title: Vascular Sonographer

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team in Golf, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vascular Sonographer to perform a comprehensive array of sophisticated non-invasive procedures, demonstrating the appropriate anatomy of interest. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in performing abdomen, some OB/GYNE, some vascular, and Small Parts ultrasound exams, with a strong knowledge of pathology in the named areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a comprehensive array of sophisticated non-invasive procedures, demonstrating the appropriate anatomy of interest.
  • Document patient history and communicate "Wet Read" reports to physician offices.
  • Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining a continued awareness of safety hazard labels.
  • Provide technical support for smooth and efficient operation of the Ultrasound Department.
  • Stay abreast with the latest ultrasound developments, attending continuing education seminars and maintaining professional accreditation.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
Education/Experience:
  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Ultrasound. Must be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age group patients treated. Registered or Registry Eligible. 1 year experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent skills in performing abdomen, some OB/GYNE, some vascular, and Small Parts ultrasound exams. Excellent knowledge in pathology in the named areas.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Requires good judgment, needs to be responsible, reliable, and work independently. Need to be flexible in working hours, and on-call rotation. Needs to have good people skills and patient care skills.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
