The Inventory & Allocation Planner plays a critical role in executing the deployment of inventory from various distribution centers to stores for an assigned product category. This position requires a strong analytical mindset to support optimum inventory levels, maximize sales and margins, and drive overall productivity and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute inventory deployment strategies, taking into account constraints and inputs such as inventory levels by store group, timing of product delivery, minimum presentation, and distribution of sizes to support merchandise sales plans.
- Support timely and accurate execution in support of New Store Openings, ensuring seamless inventory deployment and optimal store presentation.
- Provide in-depth analysis and insights on revenue and sell-through percent targets, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending data-driven solutions.
- Analyze business performance, sales, and inventory productivity, monitoring results and making necessary adjustments to deliver budgeted sales and margin and planned sell-through expectations.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Planner and Merchandiser to prioritize allocation of core and fashion product across channels, ensuring optimal inventory levels and sales performance.
- Work closely with Logistics and Production partners to resolve external constraints that impact inventory flow to distribution centers and stores.
- Support inventory management between retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels, ensuring seamless inventory deployment and optimal sales performance.
- Review and analyze weekly store performance and inventory levels, recommending changes to forecasts and ensuring accurate inventory deployment.
- Visit stores to review presentation, stock content, and levels, identifying issues and soliciting suggestions and comments from the field team.
- Partner cross-functionally with Merchandise Planning, Merchandising, Production, Channel leads, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to drive business results and optimize inventory deployment.
- 2+ years of analytical experience in merchandise planning or inventory management, with a strong understanding of inventory deployment strategies and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Statistics, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including v-lookups, pivot tables, logic formulas, and basic macros.
- Familiarity or experience with ladder or replenishment planning, with a strong understanding of inventory management principles.
- A deep understanding of how to use data to drive decisions and communicate business needs effectively.
- Previous experience with planning and business intelligence tools such as Shopify, Microsoft D365, Microstrategy, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent understanding of merchandise as it relates to company strategy, with a strong ability to communicate complex information to various audiences.
- Excellent communication, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact with peers and merchants effectively.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to concisely present complex information and recommendations to various audiences.
Vuori offers a competitive salary range of $80,000-$95,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, employee discount, and 401(k) matching.
