Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) provides exceptional comprehensive healthcare services to individuals experiencing homelessness in greater Boston.

Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.

About the Position

This dynamic role requires a self-starter with excellent patient-centered skills to lead a care team in collaboration with MD/DO colleagues and NP/PA peers. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of direct NP/PA experience, preferably with patients who have or are experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder or severe mental illness.

Responsibilities
  • Care for a complex and diverse patient population, providing primary and episodic/recuperative care.
  • Refer patients as appropriate to medical specialists, hospital admission, recuperative care, and detox facilities.
  • Participate in a collaborative relationship with BHCHP physician according to the Regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Provide education to patients on health promotion and disease treatment and prevention.
  • Maintain adequate, up-to-date medical records, completed in a timely manner, according to the guidelines of BHCHP.
Qualifications
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
  • Life support training certification (e.g. CPR, BLS, ACLS) from a course that includes a hands-on, in-person component.
  • Experience in working with underserved populations, mentally ill, homeless and/or persons with substance use disorders preferred.

  • Eligible employees will receive yearly increases, additional compensation of seven thousand five hundred dollars added to your base hiring rate for demonstrated bilingual proficiency.
