This position will play a vital role in supporting the Alternative Education Program, assisting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities- Observe, record, and report student behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Motivate students through effective communication and evaluative feedback, promoting academic excellence and personal growth.
- Support high expectations for student achievement and behavior, fostering a positive climate and culture.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and administration, promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Escort/transport students to and from various school areas, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist in record keeping, attendance, and data entry, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Help prepare instructional and performance materials, supporting teachers in their instructional efforts.
- Use appropriate behavior management techniques, maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Immediately report accidents, assaults, destruction of property, and abusive behavior to instructor or administration, ensuring prompt action and support.
- Distribute assignment sheets, administer tests, and comply with special instructions from teachers, supporting the instructional process.
- Collect and return assigned schoolwork, documenting student progress and activity.
- Document student behavior and activity throughout their stay in the alternative room, providing valuable insights for teachers and administrators.
- Escort students to and from the restroom, drinking fountain, and commons, supervising them during designated breaks.
- Guide students and supervise them in CTE programs, promoting hands-on learning and exploration.
- Execute custodial duties, attendance, and bulletin reading, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Carry out special instructions related to students and the alternative room, as indicated by the administrator in charge.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
- Relate well to students, enjoying working with them in an educational setting.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality, handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Use acceptable verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying information and ideas.
- Understand and follow directions accurately, demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Be neat in appearance, presenting a professional image at all times.
- Have good moral character and responsible behavior, upholding the values and standards of the school district.
