Lead Geological Exploration Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership in the planning, investigation, and assessment of ongoing projects.
  • Oversee extensive exploration initiatives, managing multiple drilling operations simultaneously.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and interpret intricate geological datasets.
  • Identify drilling targets and execute drilling strategies to achieve informed decisions on specific targets, guided by a peer review framework.
  • Coordinate with drilling service teams regarding sample management and logistics.
  • Document and log reverse circulation (RC) drill samples and core samples.
  • Engage with various internal teams, external consultants, and drilling personnel to ensure the safe and effective execution of exploration plans.
  • Lead and document field investigations, 3D modeling, and laboratory assessments.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of geological, geochemical, and geophysical information.
  • Design and oversee geological modeling and studies to systematically mitigate risk and uncertainty.
  • Perform field assessments by creating precise maps, stratigraphic correlations, and structural cross-sections for accurate 3D modeling and analysis.
  • Plan, design, and supervise the acquisition and processing of 2D/3D geophysical data, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Collect geological samples from field sites.
  • Analyze field data to produce cross-sections and long-sections.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geological sciences or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in exploration, including geological logging (RC and core) and field mapping.
  • Familiarity with database and modeling software is advantageous.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, climb, walk over uneven terrain for extended periods, and endure extreme temperatures.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and core saws.
  • Manual dexterity for operating computers and associated peripherals.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, as well as bend and twist as necessary.
  • Ability to drive long distances on both paved and unpaved roads.
  • Must have the ability to perceive warning signs and signals, as well as recognize equipment and surroundings.
