Key Responsibilities- Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Safety Training and Education: Provide safety training to employees and contractors, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols, the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the site complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations, maintaining records and submitting required reports.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Team Collaboration: Provide support to Onsite HR Generalist and assist Safety Specialist in promoting a safe work environment.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Work to instill a safety-first mindset among all employees and contractors on-site through regular communication, training, and reinforcement of safety policies.
- PPE Management: Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment is available, in good condition, and used correctly by all personnel.
- Coordination with Management: Collaborate with USA Safety Specialist and site management to integrate safety into all aspects of operations and address any safety concerns that arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and improve safety practices and procedures to enhance overall safety performance on site.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and HR best practices is strongly desired.
- Prior forklift experience is a plus.
- Strong observational and analytical skills are essential.
- Effective communication and training abilities are required.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary.
- Certification in occupational safety, such as OSHA certification, is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Prior experience working in a food processing environment is desired.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language and literacy skills are required.
- Competitive hourly rate: $26-$30 per hour DOE.
- Medical insurance: 100% funded by United Staffing Associates for employees, and 50% for qualifying dependents.
- Dental insurance: 100% funded by United Staffing Associates for employees, and 50% for qualifying dependents.
- Vision insurance: 100% funded by employee.
- Life insurance: $25,000 for Life + $25,000 AD&D - 100% funded by United Staffing Associates.
