Job Summary

The Distribution Center Supervisor position is a critical role that oversees and coordinates the daily warehousing activities, ensuring seamless execution of receiving, put-away, picking, quality assurance, shipping, and material handling equipment. This position is responsible for implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards, as well as achieving the appropriate level of resources to maintain daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage warehouse human resources by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, and resolving problems.
  • Meet warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse.
  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements.
  • Maintain inventory by conducting monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data.
  • Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience; College degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant and prior warehousing supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of and adherence to OSHA safety protocols and a proactive approach to remedying any safety and security issues encountered.
  • Ability to understand and be accountable for reporting on actual vs. budget and adjusting resources when there is misalignment.
  • Sense of urgency to meet priorities, deadlines, and remedy customer issues.
Additional Skills and Abilities
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
