Physician - Craven CI

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team at the Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary care services to offenders, including acute and chronic medical care, preventive health services, and health education.
Responsibilities:
Provides medical care to all offender patients assigned to this facility.
Evaluates and treats a variety of medical conditions within the purview of internal medicine.
Performs minor office-based surgical procedures and refers complicated cases to specialists.
Holds sick call for offenders, performs history and physical exams, attends emergency medical situations, holds chronic disease clinics, prescribes medications, conducts physical examinations, follow-up histories, records progress notes, utilizes HERO to maintain medical records of all patients seen and/or treated.
Coordinates and cooperates with nursing services in rendering appropriate health care.
Requirements:
Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
Documented knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general, preventive medicine, and of the techniques involved.
Minimum education and experience requirements include a degree from an accredited institution and relevant work experience.
