We are seeking a highly skilled Physician/Psychiatrist to join our team at the South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide medical/clinical services to clients at our Terrebonne Behavioral Health Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation and direct care for clients with mental health and addictive disorders
- Review diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary staff
- Prescribe and administer medications, monitor client response, and provide education on prescribed medications
- Supervise and provide necessary medical services for psychiatric clients, referring non-psychiatric medical care issues to appropriate sources
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure necessary and appropriate resource linkage
- Identify and report concerns regarding improvement of the service delivery system
- Licensure to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
- Medicare/Medicaid billing eligibility
- Expertise in use of psychotropic drugs for wellness recovery
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and written form
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to details
- Cultural proficiency and ability to work with diverse populations
