Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in refining our quality frameworks and ensuring our suppliers adhere to rigorous quality benchmarks. This position encompasses the management of incoming inspections, product disposition, and leading cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth product operations and ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster Continuous Improvement: Guide facility teams to cultivate a culture of ongoing improvement.
- Supplier Oversight: Partner with sourcing, purchasing, and corporate quality teams to define and uphold supplier standards and goals.
- Quality Issue Management: Spearhead initiatives to address supplier quality challenges and oversee internal product audits and nonconformance resolutions.
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and oversee the qualification of new components through the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
- Data Management: Coordinate the collection of supplier quality, rework, and scrap data to support Cost of Quality metrics.
- Auditing and Evaluation: Conduct and supervise audits and evaluations of processes and quality systems (ISO, internal audits, etc.).
- Data Analysis: Collect and interpret product data to drive improvement projects aimed at minimizing defects.
- Inspection Management: Assist Quality Leads in prioritizing inspection duties and developing/modifying inspection sampling strategies based on supplier performance.
- Product Traceability: Support the identification and traceability of products, ensuring integrity in testing and inspection (MSA/GR&R).
- SAP Proficiency: Serve as a SAP Super User within the designated functional area.
- Standards Implementation: Develop and implement standard tools, methodologies, and practices.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience, along with:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting with a focus on APQP (Control Plan & PFMEA).
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, particularly in a plant or supplier quality context.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.
- Proven understanding of manufacturing/quality metrics and their application.
- Certification as a Quality Engineer or Technician.
- Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Certified Quality Auditor.
- Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative teams in a dynamic environment.
