Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Medical Assistant / Patient Service Specialist to join our team at NextCare Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant / Patient Service Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients in the clinic, providing exceptional customer service and supporting front office functions. You will also be responsible for caring for patients in a Medical Assistant capacity, supporting back office functions, and ensuring the clinic and front reception area are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors
  • Support front office functions, including patient registration, scheduling, and billing
  • Perform patient care duties under the Medical Assistant scope of practice in the urgent care setting
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure the clinic is running efficiently
  • Prepare charges, collect payment, and obtain necessary signatures and receipts
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
  • Eligibility for hire if meeting one of the following criteria: completion of an unapproved Medical Assistant training program, direct supervision by a physician or physician group, or completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program
