Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EPC Project Engineer to join our team at Kiewit. As an EPC Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, managing a team of field and cost engineers. You will be the main conduit of information between the project manager and the team for technical, cost, schedule information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
  • Examine and inspect field conditions, identifying problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures.
  • Inspect subordinates' work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
  • Manage document control, receiving and logging in new issue drawings and contract documents.
  • Review new issue drawings and contract documents for changes of conditions.
  • Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
  • Improve project operations by recommending better methods, staffing, and procedural changes.
  • Act as managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects, providing supervision and on-the-job training for lower-level engineers.
  • Manage and support project teams, including direct reports and others as needed.
  • Help drive the company's environmental health and safety programs at the project level.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5-10+ years' work experience in construction or engineering.
  • Experience managing engineers.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Competent in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of project controls terminology and project scheduling.
  • Ability to travel and/or relocate as needed.
