Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients. The successful candidate will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients or patients' charts to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations.
- Explain procedures to patients/families and answer questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation.
- Identify patients and their files while ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
- Track patients according to department procedures.
- Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
- Certification - American Registered Radiologic Technologists - ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS, or RVT certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or must be registry eligible and obtain certification within 18 months from date of hire.
- Licensure - None required.
- Experience - One year of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of Specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Education - Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
