Position Overview

Location: This is a full-time onsite role.

Peraton is in search of an R&D Electrical Engineer to collaborate closely with our Navy clients in the development of advanced R&D systems for submarine applications. This role involves engaging with a government-contractor team focused on the design, integration, testing, installation, operation, and upkeep of research and development electronic systems utilized during naval vessel trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop both analog and digital circuitry for the processing of signals received and transmitted through underwater transducers.
  • Work with electronic systems, components, or circuits designed for rugged, compact equipment suitable for submarine deployment.
  • Assess operational systems and propose design enhancements to rectify malfunctions or adapt to evolving system requirements.
  • Utilize National Instruments data acquisition tools and LabVIEW software, including graphical user interfaces, to create and troubleshoot high-precision systems for vessel tracking and position monitoring.

Travel to naval facilities and onboard naval vessels may be necessary, up to 10%, which includes the physical demands of lifting and transporting items weighing up to 40 pounds, working in confined areas, and climbing vertical ladders.

Qualifications

5 years of experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; 0 years with a PhD

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is highly preferred; at a minimum, the ability to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Clearance is necessary.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting electronic and electrical systems is essential.
  • Self-motivated individuals with a proactive approach are encouraged to apply.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team without close supervision.
  • National Instruments certification in LabVIEW is highly desirable.

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $86,000 - $138,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.
