Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team of KARE Heroes. As a CMA, you will provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance, supervise residents who self-administer medication, and report any changes in residents' physical condition or behaviors.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing residents with medication administration and treatment assistance
- Supervising residents who self-administer medication
- Reporting any changes in residents' physical condition or behaviors
- Maintaining resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations
- Providing assistance with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living
- Following the schedule of residents' needs set out by supervisor
- Providing emotional and social support to residents
- Informing supervisor of any resident issues or concerns
- Striving to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, preservation of equipment, and achievement of safe working practices
- Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A CMA license
- The ability to lift at least 51 lbs on a regular basis and assist residents who require physical assistance
- Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- May require experience with caring for residents with memory impairment if assigned to memory care areas of a community
