Machine Learning Engineer

At the Federal Reserve, our team of technologists seeks innovative individuals to help us build and deploy AI and machine learning products that strengthen and protect our nation's financial systems. As a machine learning engineer, you will work with our team to develop, deploy, and maintain AI and ML products, leveraging your expertise in Python data science development and cloud environment deployment. Your responsibilities will include training datasets, model training methodologies, and model monitoring approach establishment, as well as collaborating with teams to understand their challenges and opportunities and leveraging knowledge to support new opportunities with ML/AI. We are looking for experts with 3-6+ years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining ML/AI products in a large organization and a bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. We offer a hybrid work arrangement with locations in Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City, and Omaha, as well as remote eligibility. Our experienced level starts at $80,000 and senior level at $98,800. We value our employees' qualifications, internal alignment, district assignment, and geographic location to determine final offers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) products
• Establish technical understanding of products leveraging ML/AI, including training datasets, model training methodologies, and model monitoring approach
• Collaborate with teams to understand their situations, challenges, and opportunities and leverage knowledge to support new opportunities with ML/AI
• Identify valuable models and methodologies, implement and train models, and contribute to their deployment into the production environment
Required Qualifications:
• 3-6+ years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining ML/AI products in a large organization
• Bachelor's degree with specialization in a technology-related field (Computer Science preferred, Master's preferred) or equivalent experience
• Expert proficiency in Python data science development
• Hands-on experience deploying ML/AI products into a cloud environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in AWS cloud environment
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including TFIDF, named entity recognition, tokenization, lemmatization, and word embeddings
