As a Respiratory Therapist at Trinity Health Michigan, you will play a vital role in providing professional respiratory care to patients within an assigned unit or floor within the hospital. Under the guidance of a supervisor, you will render respiratory care to patients in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
Orient patients to their treatments and develop measurable respiratory goals for each patient at their level of growth/development/age group and understanding.
Assess, administer, monitor, and evaluate aerosolized medication treatments to children, adult, and geriatric patients.
Assess, administer, monitor, and evaluate aerosol and humidification therapies to neonates, children, adults, and geriatric patients.
Assess, administer, monitor, and evaluate oxygen therapies by various modalities. Perform bronchial hygiene airway suctioning techniques.
Respond to CODE BLUE calls in all hospital locations and perform basic life support maneuvers, assist with intubation, ventilation, and transport on neonates, children, adults, and geriatric.
Demonstrate proficiency in assembling and operating ventilators for neonates, children, and adults.
Maintain, monitor, and appropriately adjust continuous life support so as to assure proper function and therapeutic effectiveness for all age groups.
Draw arterial blood gasses, review results, and direct the results to the attention of the physician on adults and the aged. Monitor respiratory parameters as indicated.
Perform other related duties such as chest physiotherapy, sputum collection, PPD testing, etc.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
Current BLS certification. Current ACLS certification
RRT certificate credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Orientation training in acute care setting
Two years experience preferred
