Job Summary

Alaska Pacific Trucking Inc is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a senior diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling commercial trucks, including log trucks. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and maintaining the highest level of quality in our work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with commercial trucks
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including greasing, oil & filter changes
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Fits bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul equipment
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
  • Examines parts for damage and excessive wear
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or training in vocational school
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
