Job Summary

The Aviation Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized school environment at Salt Lake Community College. This individual will assist the program coordinator with day-to-day operations, development, and maintenance of school equipment, as well as support faculty members in their tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform light maintenance on aircraft to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Maintain lab and hangar areas, ensuring they are clean and organized.
  • Develop and create training aids to support student learning.
  • Assist faculty members with daily tasks and operations.
  • Move aircraft and arrange them as needed to facilitate training and education.
  • Participate in school open house events to showcase college resources and programs.
  • Conduct internet research to gather information and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
Requirements
  • A minimum 3.5 GPA is required for this position.
  • The selected candidate must be a Work Study recipient.
  • Prior experience or enrollment in the aviation maintenance program is preferred.
  • Welding and sheet metal skills are beneficial for this role.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is necessary.
