Job Title: School Nurse

Answers Academy is seeking a highly qualified School Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students and staff, promoting a healthy school environment, and collaborating with the coordinated school health team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct health care to students and staff, under the Medical Director's guidance.
  • Assist faculty and staff in monitoring chronic medical conditions.
  • Coordinate care and student emergency action plans related to diabetes, seizures, asthma, allergies, and use of emergency medications.
  • Develop Individual Health Plans (IHPs) for children with chronic diseases.
  • Provide leadership for the provision of health services and assure that school district policies and procedures adhere to legal and regulatory statutes and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  • Serve on advisory committees/consultation for health accommodations necessary to support student individual education care plans.
  • Assist with the development of school emergency response plans for emergencies and disasters and the training of staff to respond appropriately within applicable state laws.
  • Promote a healthy school environment and provide staff educational in-services on topics such as CPR training, OSHA bloodborne pathogen and infection control, immunizations, and communicable diseases.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure in Kentucky as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other productivity tools.
  • Healthcare Provider Level CPR/BLS and First Aid/AED certification.
  • 3-5 years working in a school environment preferred.
  • Commitment to Jesus Christ and regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church.
  • Demonstrates a mature, godly spirit as a person of faith and prayer.
  • Commitment to the Answers Academy mission.
  • Willingness to help wherever needed in a humble, gracious manner.
  • Highly qualified in the areas of integrity, service, professionalism/polish, and critical & creative thinking.
  • Possess good written and oral communication as well as analytical skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with many personality types at different levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively, exercise judgment and creativity, and willingness to work with others as a team.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure from the students, workload, and employees.
  • Skills to organize ideas, time, materials, and space with attention to details to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding skills at using technology and Microsoft Office Suite appropriately and efficiently.

Items needed for possible employment include completion of an online application, salvation testimony, creation belief statement, confirmation of agreement with the AiG Statement of Faith, completion of a background check, and pre-employment drug screen.
