This is a female-only unit providing care to patients over the age of 16 and older, specializing in surgical gynecology, medical, oncology, urology, and post-partum readmissions.

Scope of Work

As a Nurse Assistant, you will provide care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

  • Provide safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher
  • Dispatch services and document services
  • Observe patients who require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring
  • Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit
  • Document care provided in the electronic medical record
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred
  • Nursing Assistant certification preferred
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
Work Environment

This part-time position is located at Royal Oak Hospital, with rotating shifts and variable weekends.
