Job Summary

This position oversees the coordination and supervision of the Critical Care unit's activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ICU Manager will assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures that govern the department's operations, collaborating with leaders and management to inform hospital-wide decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and monitor standards of clinical practice and performance, serving as a role model for professional nursing practice.
  • Direct the activities of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during assigned shifts, utilizing established principles of delegation and supervision.
  • Exercise independent judgment to ensure optimal patient care and appropriate resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with a minimum of an AA degree; BS or MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent supervisory experience in a critical care setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of current clinical practice standards, including computer skills, legal aspects of nursing, and financial management.
  • Current California RN license and maintenance of CPR, ACLS, PALS, and Conscious Sedation certifications.
