Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and vital signs in adult patients enrolled in research studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and vital signs in adult patients
  • Validate patient identification and accuracy of labels and requisitions
  • Develop a relationship with patients to alleviate fears and anxieties
  • Follow all Infection Control Guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Complete phlebotomy check sheets and logbooks as required
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification required
  • Certified in obtaining vital signs
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of proper aseptic techniques and anatomy and physiology of veins
  • Ability to communicate with patients and staff to alleviate fears and anxieties
  • Validated competencies in venipuncture technique and specimen labeling
Work Environment

This is a per diem position at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a leading academic medical center in Boston.
