Job Description

As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist at Providence Health & Services, you will be responsible for performing complex cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders. You will utilize a variety of advanced ultrasound equipment to objectively identify the presence or absence of disease, utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders
  • Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to identify disease
  • Assist physicians with invasive echocardiography examinations
  • Modify procedures to meet special circumstances
Requirements:
  • Oregon Sonographer certification
  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification
  • National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification
  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations
  • Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience
  • Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients
  • Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures
