Job Objective: The role of Lead Custodian is essential for delivering custodial services at the designated site, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves performing various specialized cleaning tasks and assisting in the preparation of facilities for educational activities and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising custodial staff alongside the Facility Manager.
- Participate in snow removal operations to ensure safe access.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to gather necessary information for job performance.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned facilities and grounds, ensuring a sanitary environment.
- Deliver supplies and materials to designated areas as needed.
- Provide information and guidance to students and staff regarding safety and maintenance.
- Monitor the safety of students and staff in various areas.
- Conduct summer maintenance tasks to support construction and repairs.
- Prepare facilities for daily operations and special events.
- Restock classroom and restroom supplies to ensure availability.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, students, and visitors to provide assistance.
- Address immediate safety concerns and notify appropriate personnel.
- Secure facilities to prevent damage and loss.
- Support other maintenance staff in completing custodial duties.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Organize and oversee the daily activities of custodial staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or other supervisory personnel.
Knowledge: Basic math skills, including the ability to perform calculations with fractions and percentages, are necessary. Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and safety practices is also important.
Abilities: The ability to schedule tasks, analyze data, and utilize job-related equipment is required. Flexibility to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and adapt to various situations is essential.
Work Environment: The position may involve physical activities such as lifting, walking, and standing. Employees must maintain effective communication and interaction with others. The job may be performed in varying temperature conditions and may involve some risk of injury or illness.
Performance Evaluation: Job performance will be assessed by the Facility Manager.
