Job Overview: The Evening Custodial Specialist is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in designated areas of the school environment. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks and minor maintenance duties to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vacuuming across all surfaces, including carpets and hard floors.
  • Rearrange furniture as necessary to facilitate thorough cleaning.
  • Dust and vacuum ceiling vents to maintain air quality.
  • Manage waste disposal by removing trash from all areas.
  • Conduct vacuuming of upholstered furniture to ensure cleanliness.
  • Assist in deep cleaning tasks during designated periods, including restroom sanitation and glass cleaning.
  • Clear snow and perform minor landscaping tasks as needed.
  • Support the delivery and organization of supplies within the facility.
  • Maintain custodial equipment in proper working condition.
  • Report any maintenance concerns to the Head Custodian.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.

Physical Requirements:

The candidate must be capable of lifting and carrying weights up to 56 lbs, climbing ladders up to 8 feet, and performing tasks on uneven surfaces. The ability to follow oral instructions and maintain a high standard of cleanliness is essential.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
