The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Longmont United Hospital features a 16-bed Medical/Surgical ICU department.We care for a diverse range of trauma patients (such as GI bleeds and post-MI patients requiring support devices or medication) and anyone needing critical care, including telemetry overflow as necessary.
Our department is committed to fostering evidence-based knowledge and advancing education to provide the highest quality care to our patients and their families.
This role involves taking responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team, as well as with patients and their families to identify and address their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
You will promote optimal health, well-being, and safety for patients through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act, while demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your authentic self to work each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Colorado Only:
RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency.
Compact to Compact. Upon issuance of a new multistate license, the former license is inactivated. For more information visitNursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
One year of experience preferred.
Graduates of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs.
Nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty.
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly).
