We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I to join our team at Memorial Health. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in filling medication orders, including IV admixtures, surgical kits, compounded orders, and floor stock.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and regulatory requirements related to drug control, storage, dispensing, and returns.
- Monitor medication stock levels and advise pharmacy staff of depletion or low levels of critical medications and supplies.
- Prepare and distribute medications, maintaining accurate records and adhering to sterility requirements.
- Deliver medications in a timely manner, prioritizing patient needs.
- Utilize pharmacy computer software to generate labels, post charges, and issue credits, as well as run reports and enter patient-specific information.
- Comply with department, State, and Federal requirements for completing online and paper records and reports.
- Provide backup support for other areas within the unit or department as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current State of Illinois Technician license or ability to obtain within 60 days of application.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) required by the second pharmacy technician license renewal.
- Prior pharmacy training preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, basic math, and customer relations skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate keyboard and mouse to access and store information.
- Ability to push, pull, and transport up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for long periods.
The Pharmacy Technician I will work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, potentially exposed to infectious patients and materials, hazardous and toxic substances, and musculoskeletal injuries if proper lifting and carrying techniques are not used.
