Project Overview

This role involves providing technical and system validation support for mechatronics at a leading global automotive manufacturer. The position focuses on vehicle prototyping and pre-production activities.

The engineer will engage in various prototyping tasks, which include collecting electrical measurements, installing hardware, managing software updates, overseeing component logistics, conducting system validation and testing, gathering data, and performing root cause analysis for defects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support for Measurement Equipment
  • Installation and Removal of Measurement Equipment
  • Conduct Equipment Health Checks, Troubleshooting, and Escalation
  • Track Inventory and Manage Hardware
  • Perform Retrofitting and Maintenance Activities
  • Manage Software Updates and Retrofitting (including Headunit and Individual ECUs)
  • Implement Over-the-Air Updates
  • Conduct Checklist-Based Testing
  • Plan and Document Tests
  • Execute Tests for ADAS and Powertrain
  • Prepare Vehicles for Testing
  • Support Root Cause Analysis

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the automotive sector as an engineer or technician
  • Experience in providing onsite support for mechanical and electrical activities at vehicle production and assembly sites
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle testing methodologies
  • Proficient in the installation, removal, and operation of measurement equipment
  • Experience in vehicle data collection and traceability
  • Familiarity with software updates and hardware retrofitting
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles for parts replacement and basic troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle validation processes
  • Experience in vehicle diagnostics and understanding of relevant principles

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE
  • Familiarity with CAN protocol and Vector CANoe
  • Background in Software Development and System Validation
