Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Pottawatomie County. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support care to patients in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and stabilization in emergency situations
- Initiate and implement interventions for patients in emergent situations
- Provide population-specific education to patients and families
- Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure safety
- Ensure patient and employee safety in all areas of operations
- Cooperate with local departments and agencies in search, rescue, and medical emergency situations
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, adhering to medical protocols and policies
- Follow departmental mission statement, core values, and applicable policies, rules, and regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Associate Degree (preferred)
- National Registry (preferred)
- ACLS and BLS Healthcare Provider course completion card from the American Heart Association (required within 45 days of hire)
- Valid Kansas Driver's License (required)
- Licensed as a Paramedic by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) (required)
- Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certification, or equivalent (required within 12 months of hire)
