Job Summary

StarPlus Energy LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Internal Control Specialist to join our Accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of Internal Control processes, mitigating risks, and maintaining compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular evaluations of financial and operational processes and procedures to ensure adherence to Internal Controls.
  • Identify areas of financial and operational risks, inefficiency, or non-compliance and implement measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Internal Controls policies, procedures, process flows, risk and control matrices, as well as regulatory compliance.
  • Review existing policies and procedures and update them according to operations and market trends.
  • Conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of Internal Controls and document them in the Internal Control system.
  • Contribute to the development of risk management strategies.
  • Participate in special projects related to Internal Controls and risk management as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create and coordinate risk management strategies.
  • Monitor all operations and design control systems to prevent errors in procedures.
  • Prepare reports and present them to stakeholders on audit findings/control deficiencies and recommended improvements, ensuring implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on Internal Control policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a culture of compliance and accountability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
  • Proven experience in an Internal Controls area or a similar role.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures, record-keeping, and Internal Controls guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS).
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access, or other database applications and familiarity with relevant software (e.g., SAP).
  • Ability to travel with reasonable prior notice, as required (domestic and/or international).
