Position Overview:
The Project Coordination Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the management of various project components, ensuring that all responsibilities and tasks are executed effectively.
Key responsibilities include guiding and mentoring Project Engineers, overseeing projects or segments of projects under the supervision of senior personnel, and nurturing relationships with clients, design collaborators, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Essential Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, particularly with self-perform capabilities
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on thoroughness
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in scheduling
- Field experience in construction
Work Environment:
Office:
Various job sites and/or corporate office.
Travel:
Travel may be necessary as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development and Preconstruction:
- Assist the business development team in understanding project requirements
- Engage in preconstruction meetings
- Prepare necessary documentation for quality assurance and quality control sessions
Self-Performed Work:
- Understand quantity take-offs
- Familiarity with equipment, rentals, and associated costs
- Assist in project assessment preparation
- Support the creation of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules
Estimating and Bidding:
- Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in developing estimates
- Support subcontractor procurement processes
Scheduling:
- Assist in CPM scheduling
- Participate in work planning sessions
Project Documentation:
- Review and comprehend all project drawings and specifications
- Participate in document reviews
- Draft and manage Requests for Information (RFI)
- Oversee shop drawings and submittals
- Engage in BIM coordination meetings
Subcontractor Management:
- Process subcontractor change requests
- Review and manage subcontractor invoices
- Track project workforce and vendor goals
Cost Control:
- Manage project change distributions and pricing
- Assist in tracking labor costs and material procurement
- Support the preparation of project financial documents
Project Meetings:
- Attend all relevant project and safety meetings
- Document minutes from meetings
- Participate in coordination meetings
Safety:
- Conduct safety audits
- Engage in safety training sessions
Post-Construction:
- Manage the punchlist process
- Assist in final documentation preparation
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in business development activities
- Foster relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Participate in training for professional growth
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include prolonged periods of sitting, effective communication in an office environment, and occasional standing, bending, and lifting. The role may require visiting construction sites, exposing the employee to various outdoor conditions.
