About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Hospice Care team at Amedisys, Inc. as a Hospice Aide. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to patients in their homes, helping them to maintain their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient's status, and follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist, and perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services
  • Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center
  • Current CPR certification
