Position Overview
The Performance Engineer I plays a crucial role within the Performance Engineering team, tasked with understanding the team's objectives and supporting the Enterprise Architecture and Shared Services Technology division.
The Performance Engineer I is responsible for administering and executing load tests for enterprise-level Tier0 and Tier1 applications, collaborating with the AppDev team to facilitate ongoing releases and assist with load testing for significant upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management, project management, and development teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of project cycles and performance management goals.
- Develop load testing scenarios and create scripts based on application workflows.
- Analyze application infrastructure during load testing.
- Coordinate testing efforts with Application and Middleware teams.
- Utilize Load Runner and JMeter testing tools effectively.
- Conduct load, stress, and endurance testing.
- Employ monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Zabbix, and CloudWatch metrics.
Perform in-depth analysis post-load testing to identify issues and coordinate with Application and Middleware teams. Experience in mobile testing is a valuable asset.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Load Runner and JMeter.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Experience in Load Runner scripting.
- Knowledge of PowerShell.
- Understanding of backup, restore, and recovery models.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and switch contexts effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Performance Engineer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Positive attitude and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Capability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience in mobile testing.
