Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Mechanic Senior to join our team at the City of Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining assigned City of Atlanta facilities to maximize operational performance and reduce equipment operating costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance on facility assets as assigned.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and participate in Root-Cause Analysis activities.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders and maintain work history.
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance, including repairs or adjustments to doors, carpentry, painting, replacing light bulbs or fixtures, repairs to plumbing/pipes/sinks, and HVAC.
  • Organize daily work routine and establish priorities for the completion of work in accordance with facility needs.
  • Utilize experience to lead in developing standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies as noted during service delivery.
  • Use a variety of hand-powered and shop tools.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Help and train new personnel on equipment operation.
  • Perform all duties with a strong and diligent focus on safety and quality.
  • Respond to customer requests and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner; identify and record needs or problems and determine best approach to resolve situation following departmental guidelines.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/operational concerns.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in building repairs and maintenance
  • Trade proficiency in basic plumbing, simple electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, flooring, painting, miscellaneous repairs and maintenance
  • Must have a valid Georgia Driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Building Operators Certification (BOC)
  • Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Certification
  • International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Certification
  • HVAC Certification
Physical Requirements

Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting; physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; the ability to lift 50 pounds and bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting, is frequently required.
