Position Overview:

YOUR GROWTH IS OUR PRIORITY:

We are seeking a Junior Tax Accountant to join our Estate, Gift, and Trust Practice within the Great Lakes Region.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with senior team members to manage compliance related to trusts, estates, gifts, private foundations, and personal taxation for our clientele. This role involves handling multiple projects concurrently while maintaining effective communication with clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibiting a proactive approach to learning and enhancing technical knowledge continuously.
  • Quickly grasping concepts and demonstrating a solid understanding of fundamental technical skills, along with the relevant systems and procedures.
  • Making informed decisions by evaluating all relevant information before reaching conclusions.
  • Seeking guidance and asking pertinent questions when necessary.
  • Adhering to regulations and professional ethical standards, including those set by AICPA.
  • Staying updated on all professional announcements and guidelines.
  • Developing proficiency in the technology essential for executing tasks effectively.
  • Understanding the basic client systems environment in relation to any project.
  • Meeting the designated chargeable hours as determined by leadership.
  • Ensuring quality control measures are implemented under the supervision of the engagement manager.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Responding promptly and accurately to requests from both internal teams and clients.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of budgetary constraints.
  • Effectively communicating any challenges faced during engagements to the supervisor.
  • Conducting thorough self-reviews of all work prior to submission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • 0-1 year in a relevant role.
  • Experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment is preferred.

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.

Licensure / Certification:

  • Actively pursuing CPA certification or relevant certification in the respective field, if not already obtained.
  • Must fulfill required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits annually.

Legal / Compliance:

  • Completion of the Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards acknowledgment is mandatory.
  • For governmental engagements, the ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government is required.
