Job Responsibilities:

In alignment with our Agency's mission to facilitate the recovery of individuals experiencing mental health challenges, we deliver a comprehensive range of medical and support services for diverse populations across South Carolina.

This role involves providing critical telephonic crisis intervention services as a backup for the 988 Lifeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to incoming crisis calls, offering telephonic support and intervention services in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Deliver high-quality responses to 988 Lifeline callers, ensuring cultural competence.
  • Assess mental health concerns, developmental disabilities, and substance use issues, referring individuals to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain accountability for documentation standards and expectations.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork within the center and the broader community.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:

State Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or social sciences, along with professional experience in human or social services.

Agency Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or an equivalent behavioral discipline as recognized by SCDMH.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with mental health legal principles, clinical counseling methods, and patient management in psychiatric settings. Strong planning and coordination skills for complex treatment management, along with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and recommend necessary actions.

  • Performance below the expected standard may initiate the disciplinary process.
