Job Summary:

We are seeking highly qualified adjunct instructors to teach distance learning and face-to-face courses in the Respiratory Therapy Program at the Commonwealth of Virginia.

About the Position:

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Respiratory Therapy Program, which is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent respiratory therapists.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach distance learning and face-to-face courses in the Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Mentor students in clinical settings
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of the program
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
  • Participate in program assessment and accreditation activities

Requirements:

  • AAS or AS in Respiratory Therapy
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct student assessments for all course competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize basic computer applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a health-related field
