Job Title: Experienced General Adjuster

We are seeking an experienced General Adjuster to join our team at The Hartford. As a General Adjuster, you will play a critical role in investigating, valuing, and settling large property claims in a manner consistent with our corporate claim settlement policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and value complex property claims, ensuring fair and equitable settlements.
  • Develop and implement effective claim resolution strategies, taking into account statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to share business knowledge and claim handling expertise.
  • Mentor Associate General Adjusters and Property Damage Adjusters to ensure their growth and development.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a full-file Claim Adjuster for complex property losses in excess of $300,000 in value.
  • Strong functional knowledge of commercial and residential claims, with the ability to interpret and apply insurance coverage.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Consistent high level of performance and achievement over career span.
  • Cost estimation skills, preferably using Xactimate, and computer competencies required.
  • Ability to handle Business Income Losses.
  • Good working knowledge of regional jurisdictional issues.
  • Disciplined time management and organizational skills, with the ability to function in a self-reliant manner.
  • Availability for nationwide catastrophe operations as necessary.
  • MS Office knowledge, including Excel.
What We Offer:

The Hartford offers a competitive annualized base pay range of $80,080 - $151,800, depending on experience. Our total compensation package includes short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
