Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) department at Christus Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perinatal care and be able to provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill newborns.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in the NICU, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and their families
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitor side effects, and evaluate the effectiveness of prescribed therapies
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, using electronic medical records and other documentation tools
  • Maintain knowledge of current research and best practices in neonatal care, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferably in a perinatal setting
  • RN License in state of employment or compact
  • BLS certification
  • Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification from one of the following courses: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor
  • Current NRP certification
